    IED Blast in Nangarhar Cricket Ground

    An IED blast has hit a cricket ground in the Mashwani village of Batikot district, Nangarhar. The incident is reported to have happened in the afternoon on Tuesday.

    According to a statement by governor’s spokesperson, 7 children have been wounded.

    Chief Executive Meets with the Ambassador of the United States in Kabul

    The Office of Chief Executive announced on Tuesday in a statement that CEO Abdullah Abdullah,  has met with the American ambassador, John Bass at the Sepidar Palace.

    The statement states that the Chief Executive has emphasized the strengthening of bilateral and international cooperation.

    According to the statement, the main agenda of the meeting include Peace Talks, bilateral agreements, expanding ties between the two countries, and fighting terrorism.

    Key Haqqani Commander Arrested in Paktika

    The Afghanistan National Directorate of Security has announced the arrest of an intelligence officer of the Haqqani terror network in Paktika province.

    In a statement, the National Directorate of Security said that the NDS Special Unit’s forces in an operation detained three members of the Haqqani terror network from the village of Khwaja Khel of Sharna city, the center of Paktika province.

    According to the statement, Esmatullah nicknamed “Saqib”, the intelligence officer of the militant group “Commander Maiwand” and two other who were affiliated with this group, was involved in destructive and terrorist activities in various areas of Paktika province.

    They had planned explosions and armed attacks in Sharna, the center of Paktika province, who were arrested before the plan was implemented.

    According to the statement, these people were arrested after half an hour of armed clash with two Kalashnikovs and a radio transmitter.

    France Sacks Iran Intelligence Assets

    In response to a June plot to attack an exiled Iranian opposition group’s rally outside Paris, the French government has seized assets that belong to Iran’s intelligence services.

    Assets of two Iranian individuals Assadollah Asadi and Saeid Hashemi Moghadam were also frozen.

    A few days ago an Iranian diplomat was arrested in Germany. The diplomat was suspected of involvement in a plot to bomb the meeting of the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

    An attempted attack in Villepinte was foiled on June 30. An incident of such gravity on our national territory could not go unpunished,” said a joint statement by the foreign, interior and economy ministries.

    There has been no response from Tehran yet.

    87 Terrorists Killed and Wounded in Several Provinces of Afghanistan

    Security officials have reported killing and wounding of 87 terrorists in 13 provinces of Afghanistan.

    As a result of the invasive, airborne and cleanup operations of the security forces over the past 24 hours in the provinces of Helmand, Nangarhar, Nimroz, Sar-e-Pul, Kunar, Faryab, Badakhshan, Ghazni, Kandahar, Logar, Herat, Baghlan, and Uruzgan, 66 terrorists were killed and 21 others wounded.

    The statement added that during these operations, a number of vehicles and explosives of terrorists has also been destroyed.

    Advisor to the President Dismissed

    Some sources have reported that General Jurat, the senior adviser to the president and deputy head of the National Security Council, has been dismissed.

    There is still no detail on Mr. Jurat’s dismissal.

    This comes after Officials in Nangarhar province, on 7 September, reported the discovery and seizure of some explosives and a number of weapons from the Office of the “Protection of the Values of the Jihad and Resistance of the Afghan People”. This trend belongs to Din Mohammad Jurat, who has held several public gatherings in Nangarhar province.

    More than 3,500 women diagnosed with breast cancer in Afghanistan each year: MoPH

    The Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health announced an annual incidence of 3,500 cases of breast cancer among Afghan women.

    The ministry said in a statement that more than 3,500 women suffer from breast cancer annually, with half of them losing their lives.

    The Ministry said that the appearance of a lump in breast or armpit, skin puckering, changes in the shape, size and color of the breast, nipple retraction, orange skin and nipple discharge (other than breast milk), are the symptoms of the disease.

    Explosion Targets Parliamentary Candidate Supporters

    An explosion took place a few minutes ago in Kama district of Nangarhar province. The explosion is reported to have targeted the supporters of a parliamentary candidate in an election campaign that was taking place.

    According to a provincial council member, Naser Kamawal,  2 people have been killed in the explosion.

    More than 100 Civilian Casualties in September Due to Military Ops: Report

    According to The Civilian Protection Advocacy Group who released a report on Tuesday, half of the 240 civilian casualties in September were due to operations by Afghan and foreign forces. The group stressed that more casualties have taken place in the government-controlled areas and by the Afghan security forces.

    According to the group’s newsletter, as a result of the operation of Afghan and foreign forces in 12 provinces of Afghanistan, there were about 123 civilian casualties, killing 103 people and wounding 20 others, some of them women and children.

    As per the report, the most horrific incident for civilians happened when a suicide bomber struck a protest in eastern Nangarhar on 11th September and killed 68 people and wounded 165 others.

    The Civilian Protection Advocacy Group has made an appeal to the government to stop harming innocent civilians during military operations and to enforce some strict measures to prevent such wasteful casualties.

    22 Generals of Defense Ministry Retire

    According to the Afghan Defense Ministry’s proposal and presidential decree, 22 generals have recently retired.

    The ministry said in a statement on Monday that 22 generals have retired based on the ministry’s proposal and the presidential decree.

    Over the past year, the ministry has seen the retirement of nearly 300 generals.

    26 terrorists killed in Paktia province

    Security officials have reported the killing of 26 terrorists in Paktia province.

    As a result of the air strike of Afghan security forces in the Zormat district of Paktia province, 26 terrorists have been killed and 3 others wounded, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

    The announcement added that during the operation, two of terrorists’ vehicles were also destroyed.
