Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai, reacted to the statements of US president Donald Trump and said that such remarks reflect the internal thoughts of the U.S. leadership demonstrating lack of respect to the lives of the people and human dignity.
“Two years ago, the US government demonstrated its lack of goodwill towards the people of Afghanistan, our national sovereignty and humanitarian values by using its largest non-atomic bomb in Afghanistan,” Karzai said in a statement in response to the remarks of Donald Trump.
He emphasized that the Afghan people have long been expressing concerns regarding the secret deals with Pakistan, particularly after the launch of peace process.
In addition, Karzai added that the remarks of Donald Trump in the presence of the Pakistani Prime Minister proves that the concerns of the Afghan people were justified.
Karzai has condemned the remarks of Trump and considered them as an insult to Afghan people.
Meanwhile, this reaction comes after Donald Trump in a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that “If we wanted to fight a war in Afghanistan and win it, I could win that war in a week. I just don’t want to kill 10 million people. He also said that he could wipe Afghanistan off the face of earth in 10 days.”
Pakistan PM Khan is on his official visit to US.
