President Ashraf Ghani, while addressing the 205th Atal Military Corps in Kandahar expressed that respect to security forces is a must.

He tasked all government officials to hold special funeral ceremony for the martyrdom of Afghan security forces emphasised that all soldiers should benefit from rotation program in the Afghan army and police.

President Ghani expressed, “My heart breaks when the insurgents assassinate a soldier”, and added that “There is full commitment to fund and equip Afghan forces”.

He also said that the world now acknowledges that Afghan forces have adopted aggressive mode since six months ago. “Afghan forces foiled enemy’s plan to topple the government or divide Afghanistan” he said.

President Ghani also emphasised on timely supplies for the security forces, and said that there is no shortage of stuff but there is a lack of management.

He also clarified that the number of security forces will not be reduced, even after a peace deal, as he called on the security forces to be impartial in elections but asks them to vote to anyone they want.

President Ghani in 205th Corps said, “I will pursue peace until the last breath until we end the war and stabilize the country. All security forces must remain impartial during the election and should maintain the security of the election.”
