Kazakhstan will send food products to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The topic was discussed during a phone call between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Hanif Atmar.
The parties discussed future prospects of Kazakh-Afghan cooperation in political, trade and economic, and humanitarian areas.
Tleuberdi also informed Atmar on Kazakhstan’s decision to provide Afghanistan with humanitarian aid. In turn, Atmar expressed gratitude and noted that the Afghan side appreciates the assistance provided by Kazakhstan’s government.
He also said that Afghanistan is interested in importing grain and products of its processing from Kazakhstan. He further expressed Afghanistan’s interest in strengthening cooperation in the transit, transport and energy sectors, as well as in continuing the educational program offered by Kazakhstan for Afghan citizens.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) says 349 new cases of the coronavirus were registered in the country during the past 24 hours.
The deputy of MoPH, Wahid Majroh said in a press conference that with the registration of the new cases, the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country reaches 6,402.
According to him, 15 coronavirus patients have died and 33 others recovered during the past 24 hours.
This comes as the death toll from the coronavirus in the country reaches 168 with 778 recovered patients.
The Public Health department in Nangarhar province says at least 46 new cases of the coronavirus have been registered in the province during the last 24 hours.
The health department cited that 67 new samples of the coronavirus were tested in the province’s laboratory which 36 cases of them in Nangarhar, 6 cases in Laghman and three cases in Kunar confirmed positive.
This comes as the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nangarhar laboratory reaches 533 which include cases from Kunar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces.
