Afghanistan is Ready to Move Forward on Peace, Prisoners: NSA

The National Security Adviser (NSA) Hamdullah Mohib says the Afghan government is prepared to move forward on prisoner and peace process.

The Office of National Security Council (NSC) in a press release said that NSA had a video teleconference with ambassadors of troop-contributing countries about developments in the release of prisoners.

According to the press release, Mr. Mohib invited the ambassadors to engage the ONSC if they have questions on this matter.

“The technical teams had made progress on difficult issues,” he said.

“ONSC has sought Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission input on the list of prisoners and the release mechanism, approving for implementation some of AIHRC’s recommendations on the rights of the victims of Taliban attacks,” the press release reads.

NSA Mohib added that the rights of victims and Afghan people are important to Afghanistan.
