Four people killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded inside a popular mosque in Kart-e Char area of Kabul city on Friday, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed.
“At least 4 have been killed, including the Imam of Sher Shah Suri Mosque, in an IED explosion during Friday prayers at the mosque in the west of Kabul,” MoI said in a statement.
The mosque is located in a high-security diplomatic area near the offices of several international organisations.

No group immediately claimed the explosion in central Kabul, but the IS-K group has previously claimed responsibility for an attack on Wazir Muhammad Akbar Khan mosque.
