Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul witnessed three separate explosions today, which killed two people and wounded five others.
The spokesman of Kabul Police, Ferdaws Faramarz the first explosion targeted a vehicle in Joy Shir area of PD2 at around 07:35am, wounding two people.
The second blast occurred when a 4Runner type vehicle hit by an IED in Salim Karawan area of PD4 at around 08:30am, which two civilians were killed and two more were wounded.
According to Faramarz, investigations over the two incidents are underway.
He added that the third explosion took place when a Corolla type vehicle also targeted by an IED blast in Naw Abad area of PD3, which one civilian was wounded.
Based on the reports, the head of Jamiat Islah Council, Muhammad Atif was killed in Salim Karwan explosion.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incidents so far.
Though the Afghan government has repeatedly blamed the Taliban for the attacks, but Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has condemned the killing of head of Jamiat Islah Council.
Mujahid stressed that the Taliban group condemned the assassination of Ulema, journalists, political and social figures, and blamed a certain circle for the explosions.
In the meantime, the Parwan province also witnessed a roadside bomb blast today.
Parwan police said in a statement that the roadside bomb blast targeted the vehicle of the province’s Police chief in Charikar city.
According to the statement, Abdul Wase Rahimi, the Police chief of Parwan survived the blast and no one was injured.
