More Than 50 Prisoners Released From Baghlan Jails

Afghan security officials in Baghlan province say more than 50 prisoners have been released from the jails based on a presidential decree on the occasion of 8th Sawr (April 28) the Mujahideen’s Victory Day.

The Baghlan Police Command’s press office said in a statement that 54 prisoners had been released who had been jailed on various charges, including robbery, drugs and criminal offenses.

According to the statement, the released prisoners will be checked by the health workers for the coronavirus.

On the other hand, Mohammad Salem Koohestani, the general director of Kelagai prison in Baghlan province, said that 131 prisoners have been released from the province’s prisons so far.
