Security Forces Repulse Taliban Attack in Helmand; Kill 3 Insurgents, Wound 5 Others

The Afghan security forces repulsed a Taliban attack in southern Helmand province, killing 3 insurgents and wounding at least 5 others, the Afghan military said.

The Special Operations Corps in a statement said the Taliban militants attacked the security posts in Greshk district of Helmand.

The statement further added that the security forces responded to the attack while reacting in self-defense, killing 3 militants and wounding 5 others.

The security forces also arrested a Taliban militant and confiscated a motorcycle following the clash, the Special Operations Corps added.
