At a press conference, Rafi Sediqi, chairman of the IEC’s media committee, called on security forces to pay attention to the physical security of journalists on the election day.
Sediqi emphasized that if anyone ignores the guideline, the matter will be dealt with by law.
Rafi Sediqi added that the media should submit a financial report of the candidate’s advertising contracts to the committee within the next 48 hours.
He also called on the media and people to pass to the IEC or security organs if they are faced with suspicious cases on election day in order to hold the election process transparent, fair, and professional.
Afghan parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place on 20th October across 33 provinces.
