Afghan local officials in Faryab say five vehicles carrying Turkmen aid to the provincial capital of Maimana, have been stopped by the Taliban on the highway.
The Faryab governor’s office said in a statement on Tuesday, “The Taliban dropped 10 percent of the aid to their military base.”
In addition, the Taliban have stopped the vehicles for 60 hours in the Shirin Tagab district, the statement said.
According to the Faryab governor’s office, vegetables and eggs donated by Turkmenistan are likely to be spoiled in the hot weather.
Turkmenistan, meanwhile, has provided Afghanistan with a shipment of 95 tons of vegetables, biscuits, chocolate, soft drinks and 300,000 eggs.
