The embassy of Canada in Afghanistan says the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression acknowledges children throughout the world who are victims of physical, emotional and mental abuse.
“In Afghanistan, attacks against innocent children continue, including the recentutterly senseless violence against a maternity ward in Kabul,” the embassy said in a statement.
The embassy of Canada stressed that the deliberate targeting of children by insurgents, and all acts of aggression against children, must end.
” It is essential to protect the rights of children to live free from abuse, including in conflict situations,” the statement reads.
