Former Police Commander of Nangarhar Sentenced

Bilal Pacha, a former local police commander in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison after being accused of involvement in arbitrary killings, robberies and maintaining a private prison.

Pacha allegedly misused his position while he served as commander, and that led to him getting a sentence, as per the statement from the provincial governor’s office.

The sentence was a result of an open trial that Pacha faced in Jalalabad. He has a right to appeal as of now.
