Kabul: At least six members of the Taliban Red Unit have been killed in Sarkhroud district of Nangarhar province in a counter-attack by security forces in Ghazi Baba area on Saturday night, as per the Nangarhar press office press release.
The report added that two more were injured in the attack.
The Taliban have not yet commented to the media.
The Taliban Red unit was reportedly formed in 2016 and has been involved in several large-scale attacks in various parts of the country. In parts of Nangarhar, the Taliban and fighters from the IS-K group known as Daesh are active.
