Kabul: Adhering to medical ethics of utmost importance apart from providing health service, said Acting Minister of Health, Vahid Majrooh at the opening ceremony of the first Medical Ethics Committee at Malalai Ziegenton Hospital on Sunday.
Majrooh said, “We will try to provide all the necessary facilities to the health workers in the hospitals, and we expect you to observe the ethics of medicine in addition to your services.”
According to Majrooh, in health centers, there are people who treat the patient well and they are the role models of the health sector.
On the other hand, Nasrin Oryakhil, chairwoman of the Afghan Medical Council, said at the ceremony that she was working to expand the committee to all Kabul hospitals and monitor the performance of doctors, especially the way they treat patients in health centers and clinics.
In the past, however, patients and their companions have repeatedly complained about the mistreatment of health workers and doctors in public hospitals and in some cases in private hospitals.
