IEC Informative Conference Increased Election Crisis: TEFA

The Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) says the wrong way of holding and managing the Independent Election Commission (IEC)’s informative meeting with electoral groups and observers has increased the electoral crisis.

TEFA in a press release on Monday said that the IEC’s meeting was an opportunity to bring election partners together, understand and engage in election-related bodies, saying no to deadlock and electoral crisis uphold the principle of transparency, accountability and people’s demands.

“Choosing the wrong way to manage this important electoral meeting, IEC made it demonstrable and failing to provide a rational, legal and satisfying response to the concerned parties,” the press release said.

TEFA added that IEC’s meeting had the low capacity to manage and address the questions and objections, it has not been a breakthrough and has further complicated the election crisis.
