Security officials reported that 31 Taliban insurgents including foreign fighters of the group were killed in Paktia province.
Press office of Paktia police command said that in Taliban attack on Sunday night in Ahmad Abad district of the province, 31 Taliban insurgents including foreign fighters of the group were killed and 12 others were wounded.
Eleven security forces were killed and 6 others were injured in the clash, according to the press office.
Paktia police added that, the clashes started after Taliban insurgents attacked on Machlagho dam. Machalgho dam is located in Paktia province which is under construction and expected to be finished in three years.
