AGO Issues Arrest Warrant for Former Security Advisor Ahmadzai

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) said on Sunday that the arrest warrant of Habibullah , a former special security advisor to President Ghani, has been issued to the police.

Ahmadzai had alleged that high-level government Afghan officials were offering jobs in exchange for sexual favours. He was also summoned by the AGO on Thursday to present evidence for his claims.

The accusations, leveled by Gen. Habibullah Ahmadzai, a former senior adviser under Mr. Ghani, during a TV interview, come as Taliban insurgents ramp up their attacks across the country and the United States tries to negotiate an end to the war.
