Minister of Refugees Travels to Pakistan to Discuss Afghan Refugee Situation

Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says that Minister Sayed Hussain Alami Balkhi has travelled to Islamabad to attend tripartite and multilateral Regional Meeting and discuss the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan.

The Ministry of Refugees said in a statement on Sunday afternoon that, Mr. Balkhi leading a high-level delegation went on an official visit to Islamabad, and he is set to attend multilateral Meeting of Pakistan, Iran and UNHCR on behalf of Afghanistan.

In this meeting Alami Balkhi will hold bilateral talks with Pakistan and also Iranian foreign minister to discuss issues regarding improving the situation of Afghan refugees in these two countries, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, with the intensification of tensions between Iran and the United States and increase of US sanctions against Iran, return of Afghan immigrants from Iran has amplified due to bad economic conditions.
