The project aims to improve the professional capacity of Tajik and Afghan border services to more effectively counter illegal activities in border areas, Shoinbekova said.
The project will also help build the capacities of the emergency situation committee to respond to natural disasters in border regions, she added.
The border services will receive practical training on operational planning and support for field operations. The project will strengthen the skills of border officials from both countries to respond to security incidents and effectively protect the border.
