The meeting of National Revenue Board was chaired by President Ashraf Ghani and discussed the problems of revenue collection on Sunday.
Presidential Palace in a press release said that the President expressed his dissatisfaction with the failure of the Ministry of Finance to achieve the set goal of revenue collection for the yeaar 1399, saying that he started his assessments with this goal and held several meetings regarding this issue.
Referring to the government’s financial commitments to the Afghan people and the international community, President Ghani said that no excuses in revenue collection are acceptable.

“All the problems and obstacles in this area must be fundamentally removed,” he said.
According to the press release, the President instructed the Ministry of Finance to collect taxes as soon as possible from Kam Air, Roshan Telecommunication Company, Afghan Telecom, the Oil and Gas Company, the National Development Operations Office, and all indebted governmental and non-governmental entities.
The statement added that President Ghani emphasized that the Ministry of Finance should accelerate its practical efforts to achieve the set goals within the framework of a clear revenue collection plan.
