Developing: 12 Killed and 179 Injured in Ghazni Explosion

Wahidullah Mayar, the spokesperson of Ministry of Public Health has announced that in Sunday’s explosion in Ghazni, a total of 12 people were killed and 179 others were injured.

Local officials earlier reported that more than 100 people were killed and injured in car bomb explosion in Ghazni province.

Ghazni press office said in a statement that in the car bomb explosion that occurred on Sunday morning on NDS PD6 in Shamir area of Ghazni center, 2 NDS personnel and 4 civilians were killed and 9 NDS personnel and 87 civilians were injured which most of them are school students.

A health team from Ministry of Defense has arrived in Ghazni to treatment of the injured individuals of the incident, as per Ghazni press office.

The press office further added that, the previous report which said that 8 security personnel were killed was reported mistakenly.

The blast occurred in the center of Ghazni city early on Sunday morning and some minutes later the Taliban claimed the responsibility of the attack.
