Taliban Release Six Abducted Journalists in Paktia

Security officials confirmed on Sunday that Taliban group has released the six journalists who were abducted in Paktia.

“The journalists contacted the head of media office in Paktika around 09:30AM on Sunday morning and told him that they were released by Taliban”, provincial spokesperson Shah Mahmood told Reporterly.

He added that the journalists have not yet reached Paktika but they ensured that Taliban group has freed them.

Taliban group had abducted the journalists on Friday afternoon in Zurmat district when they were on their way to Paktia to cover a ceremony in the province.
