Security officials reported the release of 28 prisoners from a Taliban prison in Zabul province.

Interior Ministry Spokesperson Nusrat Rahimi said that following a special operation of the Afghan security and defense forces in Zabul’s Naw Bahar district, the 28 prisoners were released.
He also added that among the prisoners, 16 were civilians and 12 were soldiers of security and defense forces.
Spokesperson Rahimi said that two Taliban insurgents were killed in the operation.
