US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad met with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and the two exchanged views on the ongoing cooperation for political settlement in Afghanistan, as per Pakistani officials.
The foreign secretary of Pakistan also reassured about his country’s commitment to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The current trip to the region is Khalilzad fourth such visit. On Monday, Khalilzad also met with US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, Alice Wells, who also arrived in Islamabad on Monday. The two held talks with Pakistani officials in Islamabad.
