“Hospitals in Herat are Full of Critically Ill Patients of COVID-19”: Herat Health Officials

Health officials in Herat province say that COVID- 19 hospitals in Herat are full of critically ill people infected with the virus.

Herat Public Health Director Abdul Hakim Tamana said today (Tuesday, December 1st) that oxygen consumption for Corona patients has increased to a high level.

He added that in addition to the COVID-19 “Shedayee” hospital, the “Gazargah” hospital will soon be opened to treat COVID-19 patients.

He urged Herat residents to take the corona seriously and pay attention to wearing a mask and maintaining good health.

Herat health officials say 400 to 700 oxygen balloons are used daily in Herat for COVID-19 patients.

Herat is the center of the corona outbreak in Afghanistan. Statistics from Herat health officials show that more than 7,700 people have been infected with the Coronavirus so far. Of those, 302 have died and 99 are currently in intensive care in hospitals.
