Afghan Interpol Agents Arrest UN-Blacklisted Taliban Leader

According to a statement by the Interior ministry, Afghan police have arrested a former finance minister of the Taliban who was blacklisted by the United Nation.


Abdul Jalil Haqqani, a Taliban leader,faked his identity and was seeking to escape to Pakistan through Spin Boldak crossing with a fake passport, the ministry said in a statement.

Haqqani was arrested by the Afghan Interior Ministry’s agents of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the statement added.
