Afghan Government Gears up for Geneva Conference


The presidential palace released a statement regarding the upcoming Geneva Conference

“President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with ambassadors and representatives of stakeholder nations and institutions at Arg this afternoon to discuss Afghanistan’s preparation for Geneva conference to be held November 27-28,” the statement informed.

The president also thanked the ambassadors and representatives for their help in organizing the conference and expressed that it gives “Afghanistan and its partners an opportunity to lay out gains and achievements of the first half of transformation decade, and discuss challenges lying ahead.”

The statement clarifies that President Ghani has reaffirmed that Afghanistan is in the process of transforming from a financially-dependent nation to a partner nation.
