President Ashraf Guani arrived in Kandahar city earlier today. This is the first time the President is visiting Kandahar after the attack that took place on Thursday. He has come to pay homage to the assassination of General Abdul Raziq and others who lost their lives in the attack.
An insider attack plotted by the Taliban via a governor bodyguard to target Police Chief Gen Raziq was carried out when the bodyguard open fired in a meeting at the governor’s office on Thursday.
Those who were killed included Gen Raziq, General Momin, and a journalist. Among those who were wounded included Kandahar governor, Brig General Smiley and others.
