World Bank Pledges $300 Million to Afghanistan

The acting finance minister on Tuesday officially announced that the World Bank has pledged a sum of 0 million to Afghanistan.

The World Bank official said that the fund is to help the Afghan government reduce poverty by investing in the future. The money is to go into three branches or programmes-basic education, women’s economic empowerment and to help strengthen higher education.

The World Bank Country Director Shubham Chaudhuri expressed that the bank is going to continue to aid and support Afghanistan to reduce poverty.
