The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) fixed 4,500 AFN as the amount that can be charged by private facilities for Coronavirus diagnosis on Wednesday.
The MoPH set the amount for the polymerise chain reaction (PCR) tests that is the most common screening test used in Afghanistan.
Private hospitals, clinics and laboratories that are authorized to conduct the COVID-19 tests, must abide by the fixed price and not overcharge the patient, the MoPH insisted.
The Health Ministry also warned that those found in violation, will be dealt with legally.
