Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has announced that a memorandum of understanding was signed between Afghanistan and Tajikistan on the establishment of new transit routes.
ACAA said in a statement on Wednesday that, in addition to attending EuroAsia International Summit in Dushanbe city of Tajikistan, Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada, Head of Civil Aviation Authority met with Tajikistan’s civil aviation authority and they agreed on creating new flight routes for Afghanistan-China-India flights through Tajikistan.
The statement added that in the meeting it is emphasized that creation of west-east flight routes to Tajikistan is important to attract more crossing flights and in order to implement agreements and accelerate the process of cooperation in this sphere, a memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two countries.
Meanwhile, with the closure of Pakistan air space in past two months on crossing flights of the region, air traffic has increased and many countries including Afghanistan has been affected and Afghan passengers travelling to India faced much problem.
